The Kunjra/Rayeen/Baghban people are sunni, the largest branch of Islam. A British ethnologist, WILLIAM CROOK stated that Rayeen were one and the same as the Arian community of Punjab. The Rayeen community is a widespread group of muslims, traditionally associated with vegetables, fruits and dry fruits growing and selling. According to Pilibhit Rayeen, there is a tradition that the name Rayeen is given by the Arabs from the Rayee mountains located somewhere in Arabia. A group of Arab soldiers from Jericho accompanied Mohammad Bin Qassim in his conquest of Sindh, and from there they spread to ucch.
